Rödl & Partner Romania assisted Railtrans International in the acquisition of a stake in EP Rail Group

The lawyers of Fratila, Rödl & Partner SCA have successfully assisted Railtrans International (RTI), a member of the Richardi Transport logistics ecosystem, in strengthening its position in Central and Southeastern Europe through the acquisition of a stake of 50% in EP Rail Group, a Romanian freight rail operator.

The transaction marks a significant step in RTI's strategic expansion into the Romanian market, enabling the company to access a key corridor linking the Balkans with Central Europe.

Rödl & Partner has covered the main legal aspects of the M&A transaction, such as legal due diligence, legal structuring, preparing of the transaction documents and assistance within the negotiations up to the closing of the transaction. Bogdan Frățilă, Country Managing Partner of Rödl & Partner Romania, coordinated the lawyers' team of, alongside Ioan Radu - Partner, Co-Head of Legal. The Rödl & Partner team worked closely with Mrs. Jana Tögelová from G. Lehnert, the Client's long-term local legal partner in Slovakia, ensuring an efficient transaction process.
